The Outlaw is one of six core Archetypes in the Rainwall system. Outlaws are best at robbing and stealing. These people take full advantage of the fact that law and order has gone out the window. They operate best with high Dexterity and Economic Influence scores. The three sub-types for the Outlaw are Hustler, Smuggler, and Spy.

Description

A world rendered lawless. Sometimes the only way to get what you need is to acquisition it through methods previously viewed as unscrupulous. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and when other methods fail the Outlaw comes in. Stealing, grifting, and forgery are the name of the game for these individuals. Having someone skilled in these methods can give a group the edge it needs to get ahead in this miserable landscape. In a constant battle for resources, often the best play is to acquire what you need without the heavy risk of using head-on force. And when negotiations fall through, the Outlaw finds another way.

Outlaw Sub-Types

  • Hustler - The Hustler, also known as the swindler or con artist, is highly adept at scamming people. They are part Charmer, part thief, and they can make just about any fool part with their hard-won resources. They are unmatched when it comes to lying.
  • Smuggler - The Smuggler excels at acquiring resources and transporting them. They understand the importance of safeguarding their wares and concealing them from those who would want to steal them.
  • Spy - The Spy excels at blending in wherever they are. They will infiltrate even the most dangerous places to observe or collect valuable information. They rely on their charm and casual demeanor to disarm even the most untrusting people.
