Player Health

Player Health is a key component of the game. Considering that the setting takes place in the apocalypse, a player's health relies on them maintaining it through the use of scavenged and crafted items. Players can lose health (Life Points) in a number of ways:

  • taking damage - requires first aid items
  • hunger - requires food consumables
  • enviroment - requires other items (clothing, shelter, fire, etc.)

Passage of Time

The passage of time factors into how often players must consume food items to keep from dying of starvation. Characters can survive in Rainwall for 12 days without food, and the Hunger Meter determines how much the character is affected by hunger. (See Vitality, Cognition, and Morale). Players can track these stats using the meters on their character sheets. The gamemaster tracks the passage of time for the players. A simple rule of thumb is to consider how much time has elapsed during events. For every 12 hours the characters go without sustenance, the Hunger Meter goes down by one.

Some possibilities:

  • searching a small building = 15 minutes
  • searching a medium sized building = 30-60 minutes
  • searching a large building = 1-several hours
  • walking distances - at GM discretion
  • camping and holing up for the night = how long players decide to rest
